    What is slow journalism?

I think that slow journalism is when you basically slow down, and look around. It must mean that you take more time, notice more details!

    What is slow journalism?
Slow journalism is a type of journalism were you go slowly and take your time so that you can see every details and discover new things. Paul Salopek is doing slow journalism because he isn’t taking planes to see, he walks so that he sees better and see little details that could be beautiful.

What is the purpose of his journey?
The purpose of his journey is to make kids discover the world around them by going slowly and taking their time to look at stuff. He also wants to take the path our ancestors (early humans) took.

Paul Salopek is the journalist who writes for the National Geographic.
When he started his journey in 2013, his goal was to reach South America in a route of spread of civilization.By following the path of our forefathers, (Africa-Middle East- South Asia- North East Asia- Russia- North America- South America).

I’m interested on interacting with other students from various regions of the world. I think this will be interesting because we will all have different ideas, different ways of thinking, and different beliefs. If we compromise these ideas, we can have more creative ideas with a mixture of culture.

    What is slow journalism?
Slow journalism is when you don’t just fly in the place and do quick journaling. It is when you take some time and get to know the people and take it slow and write about it. For example, if there is something you want to write about you should talk to the people there and write it whilst you are there. You also take your time to write it.
What do you think will make Out of Eden Learn interesting?
I think learning about it and that new website about of out of eden learn will make it interesting. Also learning about Paul’s walk.

The purpose of Paul Salopek’s journey is so that he can walk the footsteps of our ancestors, to experience different cultures, to see life slowed down rather than the fast pace that the average people sees it today and to share his experiences with the world. Out of Eden Learn is a project put together by Project zero at Harvard University, the goal of Out of Eden Learn is to do the same thing as Paul Salopek but in a different way- to see life at a slower speed and to share it with lots of different students around world. I think that speaking with different students and sharing my everyday life will be interesting. A question I have about the Out of Eden Learn project is if we can share our name, age, birthday and other personal information with the students that we will interact with.

National Geographic journalist Paul Salopek is the man following the paths of early human migration and carrying out the ‘Out of Eden Walk’. The purpose of his journey is to slow down and pay more attention to details and connections, and learn about villages and stories. Slow journalism is the act of not just going on an aeroplane to report on a news topic then go straight back to your country, but slowing down and taking the time to learn. Out of Eden Learn is an online universal community that is following Paul Salopek and his journey. Their goal is to join students and help them gain new insights towards the world. I think the thing that will make Out of Eden Learn interesting is that it will be a chance to learn more about the world around me and discover things I wouldn’t expect. One question I have about Out of Eden Learn is exactly how many people are taking part?

    Who is Paul Salopek?
Mr. Salopek is a man who is a former worker of the natural geographic channel and wants to know how the early humans traveled and how long they traveled for. He is interested in the evolution of man. He has been traveling for over 7 years.

What is the purpose of the EDEN project?
The Eden Project is all about the start of migration. Mr. Salopek will research what life was like 50-70,000 years ago was like for people. He will be studying about the climates the early humans had to go through, the terrain, and the way that they survived.

What do you think will make the Out of EDEN project interesting?
So far Salopek has been traveling for 7 years and has traveled over 2100 miles. He had to travel through Kenya, Africa, to Tierra Del Fuego, South America. He would have to cross over 4 continents.

What is interesting is that we will learn how our ansestors lived and traveled around the world. My question is who inspired Mr. Salopek. If Mr. Salopek is hearing his now, what are you feeling, how is your research, and where are you now?
