I moved to India in July 2012. I used to live in Kuwait and visited India twice when I lived there. I went to New Delhi both times and also visited in Agra. Since moving to India, I have visited:
1) Kochi, Kerala
2) Goa
3) Kolkata
4) Rajasthan – Jaipur and Udaipur
5) Aurangabad and the nearby Ellora and Ajanta Caves, as well as the “Poor Man’s Taj Mahal”
6) Pondicherry and Mamallapuram
7) Amritsar and the Golden Temple
8) Andaman Islands
I LOVED Ajanta and Ellora! I would like to return to Kerala, Rajasthan (Jodhpur and Jaisalmer), Sikkim and Assam, and the Himalayan region of India (Leh, Ladakh, etc.). So many places to see!

I moved to India in the middle of July in 2010, when I was 9 years old. So now I lived in India for almost 3 years and 6 months. While staying here, I didn’t really went around to travel in India. I only went to:
Jaipur,
Agra,
Delhi,
Pondicherry,
and Mamallapuram.
That’s all. But when I visited Jaipur, Agra and Delhi, I saw many monuments, including Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal was amazing! If one of you didn’t visit Taj Mahal, you should go! I believe there are many places around India that are nice to visit, so I should go travel too!

I came here in about 2 1/2 years ago and it is almost time for me to leave. I have less than 100 days left in india. It was an amazing experience and I hope to continue my expat life in other unique countries. In the first 1-2 years I was begging to go back home to Germany. Now I am begging to stay longer. I would love to stay longer, even if it’s just a year but it’s too late now.
These are the places I have visited inside india in the past 2 1/2 years:
-Chennai
-Andaman Islands
-Pondicherry
-New Delhi
-Agra
-Yelagiri
I hope I will be able to convince my parents to stay longer, but it probably won’t happen

Hi everyone,
Sorry for replying only today, because we came back to our host family’s house at 9 PM after a long day of volleyball. This year is my 3rd year living in India (I came in the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year). I think India is an amazing country and I am really happy that I have been given the opportunity to move travel around South Asia and compare and contrast different countries. People ask me which of the 3 countries I have lived in is my favorite, but I honestly don’t have an answer. Some people don’t realize that there are things in India that aren’t found anywhere else in the world.
In India, I have visited:
1) Yelagiri
2) Bangalore
3) Mysore
4) Pondicherry
5) Agra
6) Delhi
7) Mumbai
8) Mahabalipuram
9) Trivandrum
I visited Mumbai when I was very young. I went to Trivandrum in March 2013. I remember that trip clearly because the hotel threw me a surprise party on my birthday! India is an amazing, diverse country.

Welcome back! You are correct! India is an amazing and diverse country. My wife and I were ready for a change after living in the Middle East for many years. The Middle East has a fascinating culture, but not the Gulf countries like Kuwait, the UAE, and Qatar. There is obviously no comparison to India and it’s amazing history and culture. I hope to travel and see as much of India as I can while we live here. Thanks for posting a comment.

I have been all over India and enjoyed every bit of it. The best places I’ve been are the Golden Temple, the Ajanta and Ellora Caves and Udaipur. The Golden Temple is a temple for Sikhism, which is my religion, and is made out of Golden Leaf. I love Ajanta and Ellora Caves because the caves have been beautifully covered in frescos, and have many different artefacts to see. If you get a tourguide, then he or she wil teach you the amazing background behind how the whole the cave area was created, especially Ajanta. Udaipur was nice because of all of the different types of lakes they was to see. I even went and swam in one early in the morning. The atmosphere outside was freezing, but in the water, it was warm. Also, the hotel I had, Sheraton Udaipur Palace Resort and Spa, is so awesome. I think we got the suite, which I remember was quite cheap in comparison to other hotels.

I went to Ajanta and Ellora and the Golden Temple this past fall. All were amazing, especially Ellora and Ajanta. Seeing those caves makes me wonder how they were made and the effort that was made to carve out the stone with simple tools. Amazing!
